Spa Resolution a.k.a. The Beginning: Urban Retreat Spa @ The Curve

It began last week when Fh lamented about not meeting up since her Christmas party last year. Truth be told, everyone got busy after Christmas with all the festivities lined up until mid-February and work started to get crazy thereafter. After piling on all the work stress, we decided that some body pampering was due our way.

Fh suggested an ayurvedic massage since she tried it once in Bali and liked it. So we both checked the web for options and narrowed it down to two places, Sree Chithra Ayurveda Home at Jalan Gasing and The Ayur Centre at Jalan Dato Abu Bakar. Long story short, both places didn't have any available slots to accommodate the two of us so on to Plan B.

We tossed about some ideas and finally decided on Urban Retreat Spa located at The Curve, since Fh was attending an event nearby on the appointed afternoon.

Initially, I wanted to try the Sweedish-Thai massage but was told they "didn't have any floor available, all rooms with floors were taken up". You may laugh when you get that.

So we opted for a 60-min upper back, neck and head massage (RM97), then a 90-min foot, shoulder and head massage (RM107). Both massuese assigned to me were deft but I didn't achieve the desired 'refreshed' state whilst Fh had a good one (Liza) and a "just-ok" one for the second session.

After a 2.5 hours of rubbing, kneading, prodding and squeezing, we've decided that once every 6 to 8 weeks, we will meet up for a pampering session. Of course we will rope in M and O but we will carry on as long as we have a quorum of the two of us.
